What it is

Work, Unpacked is a field-based career series built around real projects, workflows, and decisions. Instead of focusing only on how someone got hired, each session reveals what the work requires and how different roles work together.

What students explore

  1. The industry and problem behind the work
  2. Role-by-role responsibilities and decisions
  3. Collaboration, tradeoffs, and common challenges
  4. Skills, experience, and realistic entry paths
  5. Concrete ways to prepare as a student

Career fields

Sessions rotate across AI & Data, Software & Tech Systems, Business & Strategy, Research & Science, and Engineering. The topic comes first; speakers are selected around the connected roles needed to explain that work.

What students leave with

Each session produces a Work Map, Reality Notes, practical preparation guidance, key Q&A, and insights that strengthen future sessions.
